It's all about the game! |

The Venom 7th grade team is very talented. Since the beginning of the 2006 season, the team as been improving with each tournament they entered. The team started with 5 players in the 12U age group, and we now have 8 solid players. We were fortunate to have two experienced players join the team for the Las Vegas Hoop Fest tournament. Simone Westbrook and Whitney Southerland were able to bring speed to an already very athletic team. The team played 3 games and won the championship game by 13 points. We are looking forward to compete at the national level with a chance to play in Oregon at the end of June.
The regular tournament season is now over, but all the Venom players will be working on their game by attending the “Back to Basics” summer program.
We are very proud of our Venom players and are looking forward to next season. |

Venom 12U #1 at Las Vegas Hoop Fest! Tuesday May 30th 2006
The Venom participated in the Las Vegas Hoop Fest Memorial Day weekend. Teams from all over the southwest made the drive to Vegas for the tournament. The Venom had representation in 2 age groups; 7th grade and 8 grade. It was the first out of state tournament for the Venom and definitely not the last. The experience was a great one for everyone, and we hope to have many more. |

The Venom 8th grade team faced some good competition. The team has girls 13 and 14 years old who played up in the 14/15 years old division for this tournament. They did very well defensively, but were not as lucky offensively. They won their first game but lost the following 3 to place 5th out of 8 teams in their age group.
The Venom 7th grade team had a different outcome. Even if the other teams were really good, the Venom was no match for the competition. They finished 3-0 winning the tournament easily defeating the Lady Sharks of Las Vegas, the Bevwood Cougars and the Pacific Elite from California. |
